Club NewsUU Athletes to compete in Europa Cup22 Jun 2007 UU Athletes Represent Ireland at Europa CupUU Athletes Laura Kerr and Elaine McCaffrey have been selected for the European Cup Competition taking place in Vassa Finland this weekend (23rd/24th June). Unfortunatley McCaffrey has had to pull out of the 4x400 team as her achillies injury is still causing problems but she hopes to be fit and well for the up and competitions later in the season. Laura Kerr will be competing in the javelin. The Irish Universities gold medalist retained her Northern Ireland Senior title last weekend throwing just under 48m recently, close to her National Record. UU graduate Eva Massey will be representing Great Britain for the first time in this competition and will be in top form following her recent new Northern Ireland record of 16.60m. Amy Foster (Elite Athlete entrant) now takes the place of UU graduated Anna Boyle who is under going tests at the Sports Institute N.I after feeling fatigued from her recent events.
