Club NewsUU's Collins is selected for European Mountain Running Chanps22 Jun 2007 UU's Collins selcted for Irish TeamThe University of Ulster's Sports studies student Ciaran Collins competed in the All Ireland Mountain Running Championships last weekend at Lugnaquila in Co.Wicklow. This race was also a selection race for the 'UP HILL ONLY' European Championships in the Pyrenees this July. Collins was the forth junior male finisher and joins team mate Conor Moore (Omagh Harriers) who was 3rd and also Jason Wilson (UU Elite Athlete entrant) who was runner up in the selection race behind Michael Dowling. This is Collin's and Wilson's first Irish vest on the hills and hopefully the first of many. UU look strong in this field for the IUAA Mountain Running Championships if they can get a few more eager bodies to make up a team :) The Irish team will travel to the Pyrenees to compete in the race which is scheduled for 8th July.
